September is here!
Enjoyed a nice ride by beautiful Pine Lake tonight after picking up some DQ drive-thru. Our area is so beautiful this time of year. I welcome the festivals coming this fall and I'm ready to experience some positive change in my life. Namely, weight loss and improved well-being. Thanks for supporting me in this endeavor, everyone!

I am Gina Alber, mom to one sensational seven year-old son and an awesome husband of 15 years. We live in northwest Indiana and enjoy swimming in our pool, visiting with friends, spending time outdoors and going to community events. We are die-hard White Sox and Chicago Bears fans. Go Sox! Go Bears!
I am interested in gardening (hence the blog name), exercise and wellness, dance, movies and reading. I enjoy supporting social causes such as Autism Speaks and Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. I am an Indiana Tri Kappa member; therefore, I am committed to charity, culture and education in Indiana. Through this organization many positive events and intervention by many smart, insightful women occurs on a regular basis in the LaPorte area and state-wide.
My profession as a special educator enables me to share my love for young people on a larger scale. Despite only having one biological child, I have many students that I care about deeply and celebrate their successes on a daily basis at my job with the South LaPorte County Special Education Cooperative.
I hope to broaden my knowledge of all things "blog" (then maybe move to "tweeting, although I have to consult with my technology consultant a.k.a. beautiful niece Alexa prior to doing that) for the next year or so and I hope we can form a nice cyber-friendship sharing thoughts and ideas.
What about you????? Let's get to know each other! :-)
